There are currently more than 80 friends groups supporting state parks throughout Florida. These groups provide support by volunteering, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects. Each year the Department of Environmental Protection and the Friends of Florida State Parks acknowledges volunteer efforts throughout the state in several categories.
